Non-genetic heterogeneity of cellular decisions. a) The homeostasis of healthy tissues is maintained by biochemical networks that process information from within the cell, the surrounding cells and the microenvironment, to coordinate the most appropriate transitions – or cellular decisions – between cellular states. b) We have studied how cells encode for cell decisions during the DNA damage response. c) In our new research programme, we investigate how oncogenic KRAS mutations alter this decision-making process leading to cancer.
