MRC Cancer Unit

The MRC Cancer Unit is home to a vibrant scientific community at the international forefront of research. Embedded in the School of Clinical Medicine the work of the Unit spans fundamental research to clinical translation, and draws together researchers from biology, physics, chemistry and engineering, as well as clinicians. The Unit’s location in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and affiliations with the Cambridge University Clinical School places it at the hub of biomedical research in the University, where students and staff benefit from extensive collaborations with partner institutions as well as with a growing number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

The Unit thrives from being host to a diverse, multicultural and multinational community of students, scientific and support staff. The collegiate ethos and close interactions between these communities fosters a sense of belonging and makes us a strong close-knit research establishment with a clear well-defined scientific mandate.
