The MRC Cancer Unit is committed to undertaking high-quality research that safeguards the rights and well-being of research participants and that complies with current legal and regulatory frameworks. Through our governance strategy (and in compliance with University of Cambridge policies), we ensure that aspects of research governance and integrity are embedded within our programmes.
Our researchers work within the existing ethical and legal frameworks, complying with the regulations and standards of good practice expected within biomedical research. Situated on the Addenbrookes Hospital site at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and with close interaction with NHS services, we ensure that the recruitment of research participants into our studies (including NHS patients), and the use of their data and samples meets the highest ethical and legal standards.
